KAK Industry has a new bolt carrier designed for optimal use with forced reset triggers. The Dead Blow Carrier (DBC) uses special internal weights to help keep everything operating in sync. Let’s dig into it.Forced Reset @ TFB: [SHOT 2026] FRT90 Forced Reset Trigger for PS90 from Armory of Kings [SHOT 2026] AS Designs MP5 Forced Reset Triggers Judge Blocks ATF From Treating Forced Reset Triggers As Machine Guns AK-Compatible Forced Reset Trigger - Trigger Empire KONO TFB Behind the Gun #190: The Future of FRTs with Desk PopThe DBC system incorporates some design elements from Colt 9mm SMG bolt carriers to improve FRT function. An additional set of weights in the bolt carrier is floating and acts like a dead blow hammer to prevent bolt bounce. The DBC can also function with a standard carbine buffer instead of the H or H2 units typically required for those systems to function.KAK offers the DBC as a carrier you can add to your bolt, a complete bolt carrier group, or as a weighted insert you can add to your existing BCG. The DBC Carrier Insert requires drilling mounting holes in your bolt carrier. KAK offers a free 3D printer file to create a drilling jig to make sure those holes end up in the right place. The Carrier Insert costs $29.95. The DBC carrier costs $79.95, or $114.95 for the vented K-Spec version. Complete BCGs come in a standard chrome-line phosphate option, or a K-Spec version with a downward vent that reduces gas backpressure flow to the charging handle area. All images from KAK. From the manufacturer:“This BCG enables you to run a standard 3 oz standard carbine buffer instead of H buffer weights with an FRT.There is a floating weight in the carrier tail which has a dead blow effect eliminating bolt bounce, and providing enough weight for the FRT to function as intended. We have tested this successfully with the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety, AS Designs ARC fire FRS, Atrius Development FRS, and Rare Breed FRT. Similarly designed product should work as well.”
