Wave 4 is unfolding as a W-X-Y. The theme tying it all together is the midsection correction — the connecting leg that sits in the middle of each complex correction. Wave (W)'s midsection formed as a simple ABC — a clean three-wave bounce before price continued lower. Wave (Y)'s midsection is a complex triangle — an A-B-C-D-E contraction. Triangles resolve in the direction of the trend, and the thrust out of one is typically sharp and roughly the width of the triangle itself. Once wave E finishes, that final leg drives price toward the sub-50,000 region to complete wave (Y) and wave 4. From there, wave 5 begins - the next major leg higher.
