In an interview with Famitsu, Dragon’s Dogma 2 Director Kento Kinoshita and Producer Naoto Ooyama discussed the new storyline and dungeons that are in Dark Arisen. According to Ooyama, the expansion alone can give players a minimum of over twenty-five hours of play. [Thanks, Famitsu!] Near the beginning of the interview, Famitsu asks the pair about the volume of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Ooyama replies that the additional story will take place in the new region of Norgan, and it will take between fifteen to twenty hours to complete this main scenario. The main game will also have twelve additional unique dungeons. Each dungeon should take half an hour to an hour to complete. Because the main story of Dragon’s Dogma 2 already takes thirty to forty hours to beat, someone picking up the game after the release of Dark Arisen will have plenty of content to go through and enjoy. Dragon’s Dogma 2 came out in 2024 as a sequel to 2012’s Dragon’s Dogma. The player can explore a fantasy open world as the “Arisen,” a customizable character who receives a mark from a dragon. As the Arisen, the player must hunt down the dragon that marked them. At the same time, they can complete quests in a world that’s in the midst of conflict. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is readily available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The Dark Arisen expansion for Dragon’s Dogma will come out on October 9, 2026. A version of the game with the expansion will come out on the Switch 2 on that date as well.
