Honestly as someone who lost everything in a house fire, I get it. It feels overwhelming to be in a position where you’re never going to be able to afford to replace your stuff. I have thrifted a lot of things but that takes a lot of time. It sounds like she’s pretty busy taking care of kids, a newborn, and working. Sure this could be a grift, but does it affect you? No not really. Based on the prices for those items she’s asking for low end/entry level stuff. The attitude of “well I can’t afford that so they shouldn’t be able to have it either” or “they’re poorer than me so they don’t deserve to have new things,” is so short sighted and narcissistic. We need to stop fighting each other over scraps. Ask yourself, “where has all the money gone? And why is my end of the economy dry as a bone?”
