A 15-year-old boy from Pakistan, who lived in Xgħajra, has tragically died after getting into difficulty while swimming in Xgħajra yesterday afternoon.Police were alerted to the incident near the Xgħajra slipway at around 4:45pm.Officers, together with a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital, arrived at the scene to find the teenager unconscious after he had been pulled from the sea by members of the public, who also began administering first aid.He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for further treatment but was sadly certified dead shortly afterwards.Magistrate Monica Borg Galea has opened an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.Lovin Malta sends its condolences to the boy’s family.•
