The upset winner of last year's GI Test Stakes, Kilwin (Twirling Candy) made her first jump of 2026 a winning one with a game effort in the Twin Bridges Stakes at Ellis Park.Last seen running a distant eighth in the GII AGS Music City Stakes against a field topped by GISW Shisospicy (Mitole), the George Arnaud-trainee collected that aforementioned Test victory by a neck when she denied Godolphin's Ragtime (Union Rags) after closing from last in that Saratoga contest August 2025. Before that, she'd won the Leslie's Lady Stakes at Churchill Downs June 8. She produced her best Beyer figures in those races with a pair of 96s.Sent off here at 3-1 odds while Bob Baffert-trained Cash Call (McKinzie) took the lion's share of wagering as the 8-5 favorite, Kilwin bounced hard off of that betting choice coming out of the blocks and backed away from the four-strong scramble for the lead to track from fifth. Stuck behind a wall of runners as they closed ranks coming off the turn, she was screaming for racing room but finally got it as the frontrunners fanned out for the homeward drive. Motoring home best of all, she overhauled Cash Call by midstretch to come in a clear winner.
