As I just said in another comment I was in this situation appx 11 years ago with also 2 stepchildren to support as my ex husband had to travel for work. I never once considered begging online as an option. There was a local food pantry that I could go to once a week. I also received help from one of the local churches at Thanksgiving and Christmas one year. I met these kind folks in a grocery store parking lot. They gave me a turkey and sides for Thanksgiving along with gifts for the kids for Christmas. I literally just cried and cried because I was so very thankful. I couldn't imagine asking for more things or different things like these folks do all the time!
