West Bengal will mandate Bengali for all government departments starting September 1. Official communication, including citizen services and digital platforms, will use the Bengali language. This directive applies to all administrative levels across the state. Translators and necessary resources will be arranged by the government. Bengali and Hindi will be used for communication with the central government.
