A Tampa, Florida TikTok creator says a Burger King chicken wrap left him gagging after he allegedly bit into what he described as a clear, gummy substance that he did not believe was chicken. In the clips, posted by Hotrod_the_adliber (@hotrod_the_adliber), the creator shares photos and close-up video of the wrap while warning viewers about his experience. According to the TikTok creator, he ordered Burger King’s Honey Mustard Royal Crispy Wrap. He said the bag felt unusually heavy when an employee handed it to him. He does not identify which Burger King restaurant sold him the food, and Burger King has not publicly commented on his allegations. “I think this is like the wrong sandwich, or looks like you gave me two sandwiches,” he recalled telling the employee. According to the TikTok, the employee responded, “No, that’s how it is.” Hotrod said he began eating the wrap anyway. After a few bites, he noticed something with a texture he did not expect. Hotrod alleged he got “half chicken,” “half gooey stuff” “I’m like pulling,” he said in the first post, describing how he ate the sandwich. “That’s kind of weird,” he added, upon closer inspection. It’s gummy and like gooey.” He then showed the partially eaten wrap to the camera and claimed only part of it resembled normal chicken. “Half of it was like chicken. The other half is like some gooey stuff,” he said. The creator initially wondered whether the substance was sauce or cheese before concluding he did not know what it was. “I’m looking, I’m like, is that raw? They really gave me raw chicken,” he said. “But now that I look at it, it’s not even chicken. I don’t know what it is.” @hotrod_the_adliber @Burger King @Spectrum Bay News 9 @FOX 13 News Tampa Bay Please address this! This is unacceptable and unsafe to serve. Raw food is a no go! He also said he felt nauseous and worried about the possibility of food poisoning, although he did not say he had received a medical diagnosis. Commenters recommended contacting the relevant authorities In a follow-up TikTok posted the next day, Hotrod opened the remaining wrap to show viewers what it looked like after sitting overnight. He captioned another follow-up, “Part 3. @Burger King still waiting for a response, apology, a call, something directly smh. complaints filed, Inspection done. On to the next..” He noted in the post that officials had tested the meat. He did not reveal the result as of this publication. Burger King introduced its Royal Crispy Wrap lineup in 2023, describing the Honey Mustard Royal Crispy Wrap as containing crispy white-meat chicken, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard sauce wrapped in a soft tortilla. The first video prompted comments suggesting Hotrod should document the incident. One commenter wrote, “It’s raw. Document. Call lawyer that will work for payment after settlement. Let the attorney take it from there. You’ll get paid.” Another advised, “Take a picture of the receipt before it fades and put both sandwiches in the freezer until you figure out how to have it tested. Report them to the health department and contact the USDA about how to have it tested for safety and bioengineering.”
