I'm the developer of this one. Little Grimoire is a side project of mine (under Escapement LLC) that teaches tarot as a system, like learning a language, instead of a card dictionary. The core idea Most people learn tarot by memorizing 78 separate meanings, and most quit partway. But the deck has a structure. Each suit has a meaning (Wands are drive and creative fire, Cups are emotion and relationships, Swords are intellect and conflict, Pentacles are money, body, and craft). Each number has a meaning. Each court card has a meaning. Combine suit + number (or court card) and you can read a minor arcana card you have not studied yet. Fives are about conflict and loss, so the Five of Cups is loss felt emotionally and the Five of Wands is friction in action. What it does - Teaches the structure first, then goes one suit at a time, then the Major Arcana, then spreads (one-card draw up to the Celtic Cross). Seven chapters in total. - Short lessons in plain language, with card images, diagrams, and key terms defined where they appear. - Every lesson is followed by practice. There are about a dozen activity formats, including multiple choice, drag-to-order, confusable pairs, scenario matching, and timed taps. - A daily card, star ratings on every lesson, and progress through each chapter. Business model - The first two lessons are free. One-time unlock, no subscription. Launch price is $9.99 on both iOS and Android. Where it is - Live on iOS and Android. - Tarot is the first Book in the app. The next Book is likely Lenormand (another card based divinatioin tool). Why I built it Existing apps are either expensive or lack an activity/re-playability. The exercises and activities are sourced from a pool so it doesn't get stale. We also don't requie a subscription. I'll answer every comment. submitted by /u/triadfate [link] [comments]
