We spent last week watching the Walt Disney World calendar.Disney raised prices on October 11 in 2023, on October 23 in 2024, and on October 8 in 2025. Three consecutive Octobers, which turned the first half of this month into something close to a countdown for anyone holding off on a purchase. Disney Tourist Blog, which correctly called the October 8 date last year, pointed to October 7, 2026, as the likely next date.Disney came a day early.Annual Pass prices went up today, October 6, 2026, effective immediately. All four tiers cost more than they did yesterday, and the increases are not distributed evenly. They are not close to evenly. Here is what changed, and the part of it worth being annoyed about.Credit: DisneyThe New PricesAnnual PassOld PriceNew PriceIncreaseDisney Pixie Dust Pass$489$499+$10 (about 2%)Disney Pirate Pass$869$909+$40 (about 4.6%)Disney Sorcerer Pass$1,099$1,139+$40 (about 3.6%)Disney Incredi-Pass$1,629$1,749+$120 (about 7.4%)All prices before tax.The Incredi-Pass increase is three times the size of the next largest jump. Why That Matters More Than the NumberEligibility did not change, and this is where the increase gets uncomfortable.Florida residents can buy any of the four passes.Eligible Disney Vacation Club members can buy the Sorcerer Pass or the Incredi-Pass.Everyone else, which is to say most out-of-state Disney fans, can only buy the Incredi-Pass.Now line that up against the increases.A Florida resident on the entry-level Pixie Dust Pass pays $10 more. An out-of-state family with no Disney Vacation Club membership pays $120 more because the Incredi-Pass is the only product available to them. The largest increase on the board landed on the group with zero alternatives.Credit: Inside the MagicDisney’s Own Explanation Fits PerfectlyDisney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum told CNN the company approaches pricing “market by market, rather than with one broad brush.”Read that against the numbers, and it is not corporate deflection. It is an accurate description of what just happened.Florida residents, who live close enough to visit repeatedly and who have four options to choose from, absorbed a 2 percent increase at the entry tier. Out-of-state visitors, who have one option and are generally planning a trip regardless, absorbed 7.4 percent. That is market-by-market pricing working exactly as described. The market with choices got a smaller increase. The market without them did not.The $610 Gap Is the Real StoryAfter today, the difference between the Sorcerer Pass and the Incredi-Pass is $610.Some of that is blockout dates, which is the honest part. The Incredi-Pass has no blockout dates at all, which is genuinely what you are paying the premium for. The Pixie Dust Pass is blocked during peak periods and most weekends. Pirate and Sorcerer sit in between. But here is the other way to read that $610.Sorcerer is available to Florida residents and eligible DVC members. It is not available to an out-of-state fan without DVC.So for a large share of passholders, that $610 is not a choice between two products. It is the cost of not living in Florida and not owning DVC points.Credit: DisneyThe Three-Year TrajectoryThis is the number that should bother people more than today’s headline. The Incredi-Pass has gone:October 2023: $1,449October 2024: $1,549October 2025: $1,629October 2026: $1,749That is $300 in three years, or roughly a 21 percent increase.Look at the increments, though. Up $100, then $80, then $120.The increases are not slowing down. This year’s was the largest of the three, which undercuts any assumption that the aggressive stretch was behind us.Lightning Lane Went Up Too, and One Piece Is Being OverlookedDisney also adjusted Lightning Lane pricing.Peak Single Pass prices for headliners, including TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, rose by $1 to $3.The Lightning Lane Premier Pass ceiling rose by $50 at each park. That second one is the real increase, and it is getting far less attention than the past news. A few dollars on a Single Pass is noise. Fifty dollars per park on the Premier Pass ceiling is a substantial jump for anyone using that product, and it compounds fast on a multi-park trip.Credit: Inside the MagicWhat Disney Protected, and WhyThe things that did not change tell you as much as the things that did.The cheapest day ticket held at $119 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.Lightning Lane Multi Pass pricing is unchanged.Pass eligibility rules are unchanged.Neither of those first two is an accident. The $119 figure is the number Disney gets to cite when anyone argues the parks have become unaffordable, and Multi Pass is the mass-market version of Lightning Lane that most guests actually buy.So Disney raised the premium tiers and the captive-audience product while leaving the entry price point and the volume product untouched. The floor stays intact for marketing purposes. The ceiling keeps rising.Peak ticket prices are also going up for November and December 2027 dates, which were already climbing before today. For Context on Where Tickets Already AreLast October’s increase pushed Walt Disney World past a milestone. For 2026 dates, Magic Kingdom reached as high as $209, Hollywood Studios $204, EPCOT $199, and Animal Kingdom $184.That made 2026 the first year a standard one-day ticket crossed $200.Parking also went from $30 to $35 per day in that same round. Those numbers are the baseline this increase is building on, not a starting point.Credit: Scott Smith, FlickrWhat Passholders Should Actually DoIf your renewal is coming and you were going to renew anyway, there is nothing to decide. The price is the price, and it is already live.If you are on the fence, run the honest math. Divide the new price by the number of days you realistically visit. An Incredi-Pass at $1,749 needs roughly 8 or 9 park days to beat a multi-day ticket package, and that calculation has gotten worse every October for 3 years running. For out-of-state fans especially, a multi-day ticket package is worth pricing before you renew out of habit. The Incredi-Pass stopped being an obvious value for occasional visitors a while ago, and an additional $120 does not help.Disney has not indicated whether further increases are planned this month. Based on three straight years of October adjustments, today was most likely the main event.Sources: Walt Disney World’s updated Annual Pass pricing effective October 6, 2026, and Thomas Mazloum’s comments to CNN.The post Disney World Raises Annual Pass Prices, Affecting Most Loyal Disney Fans Immediately appeared first on Inside the Magic.
