Tottenham Hotspur have already identified several January transfer targets as Roberto De Zerbi looks to address some of the gaps left by the club’s huge summer rebuild.Let’s take a look through the biggest Tottenham transfer stories of the week.IncomingsAndrew RobertsonFreeMarcos SenesiFreeMartin DubravkaFreeJan Paul van Hecke£52mMateus Fernandes£85mSandro Tonali£100mSavinho£85mOmar Marmoush£60mTosin Adarabioyo£12mMykhailo MudrykLoanTotal spent£394mOutgoingsLuka Vuskovic£50mWill Lankshear£20mRadu Dragusin£21mAlejo Veliz£7.7mAlfie Devine£6mTynan Thompson£8mManor Solomon£7mCristian Romero£34.1mAshley Phillips£20mDjed Spence£30mKevin Danso£25mPape Matar Sarr£25.6mTotal received£254.8mTottenham’s net spend£139.2mTottenham turn to Julian Alvarez and Vangelis Pavlidis to solve goalscoring problemsRoberto De Zerbi’s side have struggled for goals this season, which remains their biggest problem and one of the main reasons they currently sit bottom of the Premier League table. They have scored just two goals in five games so far, both coming in their most recent 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa.Tottenham did sign Omar Marmoush on loan in the summer, although the deal is effectively a formality given the north London club have an obligation to buy him next year. However, Marmoush is not a traditional out-and-out No.9, meaning a striker could be a priority when the January window opens.Spurs Web covered some shocking news from Spain earlier in the week, that Tottenham are plotting an ambitious move for an unhappy Julian Alvarez at Atletico Madrid. The Argentine has scored 49 goals over the last two seasons and could be available after Atletico refused to sell him to Barcelona in the summer, despite that being his desired destination.Getting Alvarez out of the Metropolitano would not be easy, but the Lilywhites are reportedly prepared to put £113m on the table to bring the striker back to the Premier League.Spurs are also willing to include a release clause in any deal that would allow Alvarez to pursue a future move to Barcelona. In all honesty, though, such an arrangement would not exactly leave a good impression of Tottenham. It is also difficult to imagine Alvarez joining a club outside the Champions League, while Spurs are unlikely to be in a position to shatter their transfer record again in January after the enormous amount spent during the summer.A more realistic striker Tottenham have been linked with is Benfica’s Vangelis Pavlidis.Spurs were one of several clubs to approach the Benfica striker in the summer, alongside Aston Villa, Barcelona, AC Milan, AS Roma, Juventus, Fenerbahce and Besiktas. However, head coach Marco Silva was extremely keen to keep Pavlidis and Benfica decided to ward off the interest. The Greek striker has since continued his excellent form, scoring 14 goals in 13 matches across all competitions this campaign. Unsurprisingly, interest from his summer suitors has not disappeared. Pavlidis has always dreamed of playing in the Premier League, giving Tottenham and Villa an advantage over some of the other clubs interestedThe striker will not force his way out of Lisbon, though. Benfica are also in a strong negotiating position, with his current contract running until 2029 and containing a €100m (£85m) release clause.Photo by David Ramos – FIFA/FIFA via Getty ImagesTottenham will not move for £30m Kim Min-jae transfer in JanuaryTottenham’s new-look defence has looked shaky for large parts of the season, with Spurs already conceding 12 goals in seven games. Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae would have been a solid addition for around £30m, particularly following Jan Paul Van Hecke’s recent injury while away with the Netherlands.Tottenham did make contact over the South Korean during the summer but did not follow up with an offer. Multiple reports had suggested that could change in January, but more recent information indicates Kim is unlikely to arrive in the winter window.Strengthening the backline is not currently viewed as a priority for Spurs in January, while Bayern Munich would also be reluctant to weaken their defence midway through the season.Perhaps surprisingly, Kim himself is reportedly happy at the Allianz Arena in his current role as a deputy to Dayot Upamecano or Jonathan Tah. That had previously been viewed as something that could help clubs interested in taking him away from Bayern.Tottenham’s transfer priority is likely to be a left winger; Antonio Nusa and Gianluca PrestianniSpurs were interested in Cody Gakpo and Iliman Ndiaye during the summer, but both deals fell through before the club settled for Mykhailo Mudryk on loan. The Ukrainian had not played competitive football for almost two years before joining Tottenham and is now injured himself, meaning it will take time for him to return to a competitive level that Spurs cannot afford to wait for. That leaves Mathys Tel as the only fit and available option in the position, but he has struggled to make the most of his opportunities. Spurs are therefore likely to look at alternatives in January. It was widely reported during the summer window that Tottenham were exploring a move for Antonio Nusa, but the 21-year-old ultimately remained at RB Leipzig.Nusa has since scored three goals and provided two assists in six appearances across all competitions this term, and Spurs Web reported a few days ago that Tottenham could return for the winger in January. The Lilywhites face competition from rivals Arsenal, who are also believed to be strongly interested and are already preparing an initial offer worth £34m.Leipzig, however, have little interest in allowing their star attacker to leave. His contract runs until 2029, meaning the Bundesliga club are well protected, and it would reportedly take an ‘exceptional offer’ of around €60m to €65m (£51m-£55.2m) to convince them to sell in January. For a player with Nusa’s potential, that could still prove to be a bargain.Tottenham could also turn to another Benfica attacker alongside Pavlidis. Several outlets have reported in recent weeks that Spurs are considering a January move for Gianluca Prestianni, who has already recorded eight goals and three assists this season.Aston Villa, Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Brighton are also keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old, who came under scrutiny in the Champions League last season after being banned for six games for using a homophobic slur towards Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.Prestianni’s contract reportedly contains a €100m (£87m) release clause, while Benfica are already said to be working on a new deal for the youngster.Real Madrid send scouts to watch boyhood Tottenham fan Alex ScottTottenham have maintained transfer interest in Alex Scott for some time, but no move materialised as Bournemouth maintained their stance that they did not want to sell the England international.Scott has started the 2026/27 season well, registering one goal and one assist in his opening five Premier League games for the Cherries.Spurs now appear to have fresh competition for the midfielder, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool also understood to be monitoring him.The interest does not stop there, either. Real Madrid are reportedly considering entering the race for Scott after being impressed by his recent performances.Scouts from Los Blancos were reportedly in attendance in Rijeka to watch Scott produce an impressive display as England thrashed Croatia 7-0 in the Nations League a few days ago.Spurs Web reported during the summer that Scott was valued at £64m, but his performances and the growing competition for his signature could see that figure rise.According to the Daily Mirror, Scott could eventually be valued at as much as £100m when he leaves Bournemouth in the summer of 2027.READ MORE: Tottenham will laugh Juventus out of N17 with wild Destiny Udogie valuation – Spurs WebThe post Tottenham transfer round-up: Shock Julian Alvarez interest, Kim Min-jae decision and controversial winger appeared first on Spurs Web.
