Dolly Parton was an Antiwar Libertarian

Writes Ginny Garner:Dolly Parton rarely talked politics because she was a smart and successful business woman who understood she was an entertainer, not a political advisor, and she didn’t want to alienate her fans who had varying political views. But even though she was a patriotic American she was definitely antiwar and I believe a libertarian. In 2005 she released the bluegrass flavored album “Those Were the Days” that included antiwar songs “The Cruel War,” “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?”and “Imagine.” In a 2023 interview she was asked about her lyrics in her song “World on Fire.” She flatly said all politicians were greedy. It was the rare occasion when she spoke critically of others. The post Dolly Parton was an Antiwar Libertarian appeared first on LewRockwell.
