Żurrieq Resident Hospitalised After Early-Morning Fire Breaks Out In Home

A Żurrieq resident was taken to hospital after inhaling smoke when a fire broke out inside a residential building in the early hours of Monday morning.According to Malta’s Civil Protection Department, firefighters from Stations 1 and 4 were called to the scene shortly before 3am.Firefighters traced the blaze to the residence’s washroom and carried out an operation to extinguish it.Once the flames were brought under control, crews ventilated the building to clear the accumulated smoke.The owner of the residence was treated at the scene by a Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department medical team before being transported to hospital for further treatment following smoke inhalation.The Civil Protection Department thanked the medical team and Malta Police Force officers from the 5th Police District for their assistance during the operation.Wishing the resident a speedy recovery.Photo credits to @civilprotectionmalta•
