Problem: A lot of us are paying for too many cloud storage subscriptions, but canceling feels harder than just continuing to pay. Years of files and notes feel trapped across Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, etc. Meanwhile, many people have perfectly good old(er) computers sitting unused. Uncloud makes it easy to move your data out and turn a computer you already own into something that works like a normal cloud service. Comparison: Nextcloud and Seafile are self-hosted options, but they require you to set up and maintain the underlying infrastructure. Synology BeeStation makes things easier, but only if you’re willing to buy dedicated hardware. Uncloud is for people who want neither: install it on a computer you already own, move your files over, and get the benefits of self-hosting without turning it into a hobby. Pricing: $79 early access / $99 regular, one-time forever. No monthly storage fee. uncloud.life submitted by /u/SaiMizOp [link] [comments]
