Nolan North Is Staying in Shape Just in Case Sony Calls About Uncharted 5

Uncharted star Nolan North is keen to return for Uncharted 5, amid reports that a fresh entry in the franchise is in production. While Sony is yet to officially announce any new Uncharted project, Naughty Dog has confirmed it has multiple games in the works right now. Aside from the upcoming Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet, it is believed that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy director Shaun Escayg is leading a team building a fresh entry in the company's beloved adventure series. North, who portrays Uncharted hero Nathan Drake, has now said he would happily return to the role if asked — and has even tried to stay in shape for whenever the call comes. Perhaps unsurprisingly, North is also bullish on Uncharted 5's likelihood of success if it is indeed released — while also acknowledging that Naughty Dog needed to avoid launching something as unpopular as the fourth Indiana Jones movie, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."I think it would be one of the biggest games ever if they decided to do it," North said, speaking during the Gamergy show in Puerto Rico (thanks, DomTheBomb/VGC). "It just depends if Sony wants to make money. "I haven't heard anything, but you know, it is a business and my God, can you imagine if they if they did? I mean, it would be the biggest announcement in gaming. And I don’t think that’s hyperbole, I think that's true. I think that would be... to bring back a storied franchise like that? You just don't want to make a Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."While Intergalactic is believed to be the next project to launch from Naughty Dog, the studio still has a legion of fans keen for new entries in its other franchises: The Last of Us and Uncharted. It's now been a decade since Uncharted 4 released and put a nice bow on Nathan Drake's adventures, but this gap in time also opens up the possibility of a fresh adventure that featured his daughter, Cassie."You know, I try to stay in shape, just in case," Nolan concluded. "It was 10 years of work with good friends, good people, a great developer. I can't see a scenario that I would say no."Photo by Albert L. Ortega/Getty Images.
