“we’re excited to announce” might be one of the most expensive sentences in marketing

Wait 5 sec.

“we’re excited to announce our new…” i see this everywhere. and the weird thing is, it tells the reader absolutely nothing. the company is excited. great. but why should i be? compare: “we’re excited to announce our new scheduling tool” with: “your clients can now book without emailing you” same product. completely different starting point. one begins with the company’s feelings. the other begins with the reader’s situation. i know this is basic, but it’s surprisingly easy to slip into company-first copy when you’re writing from inside the business sometimes the first sentence should simply delete the company from the conversation submitted by /u/VegetableNew1103 [link] [comments]
