Despite all the doom and gloom surrounding Tottenham Hotspur after their poor start to the season, Harry Redknapp is confident Roberto De Zerbi are going to surprise many people this term. Many are already writing their obituaries on Roberto De Zerbi’s spell as Tottenham boss after the Lilywhites have gone winless in their first five games of the season.Given that Spurs are coming off two back-to-back 17th-place finishes, some are naturally wondering if the club could find themselves locked in another relegation battle this term. However, the underlying metrics suggest that Tottenham are in a false position in the table, and a former Spurs manager expects big improvement from the side this season.Photo by Michael Regan – The FA/The FA via Getty ImagesHarry Redknapp backs Tottenham to finish in the top sixComing into the new campaign, many Spurs fans were hoping that the club could get back into the top six, where they feel they rightfully belong, especially after the big investment into the squad in the summer.Redknapp remains convinced that Tottenham will end the season at the top part of the table, backing De Zerbi’s men to turn things around. When asked where he expects Spurs to finish, the 79-year-old told OLBG’s The Jeff Stelling Show (via Football.London): “I’m saying top four, top five, top six for them this season. I do think they’ll turn it round. I do think they’ll come good. They’ve got to, with that group of players.“But 17th, you know, incredible. Good managers, good players. There’s obviously something not right. But I don’t know what it is. And they’ve had the players in, you know. Last year, the year before, they were better than where they finished. They should have been doing better, for sure. They had enough good players to have been up there fighting for European places.”Redknapp concedes Spurs have not signed winnersOn the back of Tottenham’s poor start to the season, some pundits are now scrutinising the club’s summer recruitment, and are questioning if the new signings are of the required quality to take the club up the table.Redknapp agrees that many of the new recruits are not coming into the club with a winning mentality, but he still believes there is enough quality in the squad to finish in the European places. The former Spurs manager added: “And as I heard someone saying the other day, they’ve bought players who were not getting in the teams at their previous clubs. They’re not exactly serial winners, are they? One or two of them have had relegations. And the ones already there weren’t exactly setting the world alight either.“So you’d still expect them to finish in the top six, and I’m still confident my bet will come good at the end of the year. But they better hurry up and turn it round.”READ MORE: Tottenham and Liverpool enter £55m race to sign Brentford star Michael KayodeThe post Harry Redknapp makes bold prediction on where Tottenham will finish this season appeared first on Spurs Web.
