Nathaniel Attard is no longer serving as the Nationalist Party’s communications director, bringing his two-year stint at the helm of the party’s communications operation to an end.Attard confirmed on Monday that he no longer holds the position, but declined to elaborate on the circumstances surrounding his departure and directed questions towards the PN.Reports that Attard had been removed from the role began circulating on social media on Monday morning.ONE News reported that Attard was informed of the decision on Sunday 27th September.The PN has yet to publicly explain the decision.Attard was appointed communications director in September 2024 under former PN leader Bernard Grech and remained in the position following Alex Borg’s election as party leader.He subsequently oversaw the PN’s communications strategy throughout this year’s general election campaign.Attard had taken over the role from James Aaron Ellul, who was moved to another position within the party.Before becoming the PN’s communications director, Attard served as head of news at Media Link Communications and editor of In-Nazzjon, while also appearing on NET Television as a newscaster, producer and current affairs presenter.He also spent eight years as BirdLife Malta’s communications manager between 2016 and 2024.The PN has been approached for further details surrounding Attard’s departure.Photo credits to Nathaniel Attard •
