I built a local-first Mac writing OS for novels, called Folian

Wait 5 sec.

I've been building Folian for novelists who keep losing the book across Docs, notes apps, and AI chats. It’s a local-first Mac workspace that keeps the manuscript, story bible, canon, research, and creative decisions in one place. AI is optional. When you use it, output stays a proposal until you approve it into the draft or canon. You bring your own API key. What I’m trying to solve: • Long projects where character truth and continuity drift • AI help that doesn’t silently rewrite the book • One desk for draft + memory instead of ten tabs Public beta is free for now: https://folian.app Curious what broke for you first when a novel got long: continuity, character voice, or revision chaos? submitted by /u/CrisPonReddit [link] [comments]
