Arsenal is keen to sign Eli Junior Kroupi, another Bournemouth player the Gunners have been monitoring for several months after his impressive Premier League performances last season. The striker emerged as the leading teenage scorer in England and scored several excellent goals to help Bournemouth qualify for the Europa League. The Cherries came close to reaching the Champions League, and Kroupi’s goals played a significant role in their impressive campaign.Bournemouth refused to sell him during the last transfer window despite interest from several clubs. The youngster then suffered an injury during pre-season and remains unavailable, but there is no doubt that he is still considered one of the finest young talents in the Premier League.Arsenal faces Barcelona competitionArsenal wants to sign Kroupi, but the Gunners now face serious competition. Caught Offside reports that Barcelona has become the latest club to show interest in the Frenchman. The Catalan club has also tracked Kroupi for several months and views him as a potential addition to its attack. Barcelona’s interest means that both clubs are now competing for the same highly rated forward.Kroupi’s injury could delay any transfer, as interested clubs will want to assess his recovery before making a major commitment. Bournemouth is also in a strong position because it has already demonstrated its reluctance to sell.(Photo by Eddie Keogh/Getty Images)A competitive transfer battleArsenal and Barcelona both showed interest in Julian Alvarez during the summer, but neither club managed to sign him because Atletico Madrid refused to sell. Their failure to complete that deal has increased the importance of finding another attacking option.Kroupi could now become the focus of a transfer battle between the two clubs. Arsenal believes his Premier League experience and goalscoring ability would make him a valuable addition, while Barcelona sees him as a player who could strengthen its forward line. The Frenchman will have an important decision to make if Bournemouth eventually allows him to leave. Arsenal can offer him continuity in England, while Barcelona would provide the opportunity to play for one of Europe’s most recognised clubs._____________________________________________________________________________________________ADMIN COMMENTSo here are some simple rules which I must insist commenters follow….You agree not to give any personal abuse to other Arsenal fans.
