Wait 5 sec.

Vanta (f, 2, Greatest Honour-Goodn'ready, by More Than Ready) showed why she was the 1-5 favorite in Sunday's GIII Surfer Girl Stakes at Santa Anita, handling the field with ease to become the first graded winner for her freshman sire (by Tapit). After breaking smoothly, Vanta settled second to last as Blockade (Knicks Go) showed the way up front through :23.19 and :48.07 splits. With the field strung out on the backstretch, Vanta drew closer approaching the quarter pole, angled inside, then reeled in Blockade to win by a length, getting the mile in 1:35.17. Blockade held second, while Big Blast (Mr. Big) got up for third. With the Surfer Girl win, Vanta remained unbeaten in three starts, including a Sept. 6 win, again over Blockade, in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes.Sales History: $27,000 RNA Ylg '25 SARAUG; $370,000 2yo '26 OBSMAR.O-Dutch Girl Holdings LLC and Irving Ventures LLC; B-Sequel Thoroughbreds LLC, Lakland Farm &  Truly Thoroughbreds Inc.
