The Ministry of Industries, Mines & Energy has announced a nationwide fuel price increase, with petrol rising by N$1.50 per litre and both diesel grades remaining unchanged, effective Wednesday (October 7th).⛽ The new per litre pump prices for Walvis Bay (national price anchor) will be N$26.58 for petrol, N$27.86 for diesel 50ppm, and N$27.96 for diesel 10ppm, with prices in all other towns adjusting according to the transport differential. The increase was because international petrol prices rose sharply by 19.27% from August to September, while higher shipping costs, disruptions to global oil supplies linked to the Middle East conflict, and restrictions on petroleum exports pushed import costs even higher. A weaker Namibia dollar against the US dollar also made imported fuel more expensive. submitted by /u/namibpulse [link] [comments]
