Three-Legged Rescue Dog Carrie Could Get A New Lease On Life With Malta-Made Prosthetic

Carrie, a shy three-legged rescue dog who once lived as a stray in Macedonia, has made her way to Malta for a second chance at life, and now, a locally made prosthetic could help make her future a little easier. After having one of her front legs amputated, Carrie was brought to Malta and is currently being fostered as she slowly adjusts to her new surroundings and learns to trust the people around her.And while her journey has already taken her a long way from the streets of Macedonia, her rescuers are now hoping to give her some much-needed additional support.Carrie recently visited Invent 3D in Malta for a consultation to determine whether it would be possible to fit her with a prosthetic leg.The news was positive: Carrie is a candidate for one.The prosthetic is not expected to make Carrie walk as though she had four legs again. Instead, it is hoped that the device could provide additional support, improve her balance and stability, and reduce some of the strain being placed on her remaining limbs. However, making that happen will come at a cost.Around €1,400 needs to be raised to fund Carrie’s prosthetic, with fundraising now taking place through Our Rescues Malta.“After everything she has already been through, we would love to give her the best possible chance at a comfortable and mobile future,” her fosterer said. Those wishing to help Carrie reach the €1,400 target can donate through Our Rescues Malta.Donation detailsRevolut: +356 99299394BOV Mobile: +356 79569798PayPal: PayPal.Me/ourrescuesmtSMS donations€2.33 – 5061 7309€4.66 – 5061 8104€6.99 – 5061 8805€11.65 – 5061 9276Carrie’s rescuers also have photographs and videos documenting her journey, including footage from her consultation with Invent 3D.From surviving as a stray in Macedonia to finding safety in a foster home in Malta, Carrie has already overcome more than most dogs ever have to.Now, €1,400 could help give this gentle three-legged rescue some extra support as she takes the next steps in her new life.Donate or share her story to help Our Rescues Malta reach the €1,400 target.•
