Every hiring tool claims to verify you. Mine deliberately doesn't. Trying to work out if that's a dealbreaker, or the whole point.

Wait 5 sec.

I'm building Swapiki — a profile page where candidates put up project evidence plus a 2-minute voice walkthrough of how they actually did the work. The mechanic: you read three words aloud into your microphone. That confirms a live person was recording. That's it. No KYC, no document upload, no "verified" badge, no background check. We call it "Live recording confirmed" and say plainly on every page that it's a liveness check, not a credential check. My reasoning: every platform waving a "verified" badge is making a promise it can't keep, and the candidate absorbs the gap when it turns out to mean "uploaded a document once, three years ago." Under-claiming felt more honest than inventing another badge. Where I think I might be wrong: Recruiters want some trust signal, and "we don't verify identity" might read as a gap rather than honesty. A liveness check with no identity attached may be worthless to someone screening at volume. Candidates may not want strangers holding a link to their voice. Two questions: If you hire — does "we don't verify identity" make you close the tab, or keep reading? If you're job hunting — would you actually record a 2-minute walkthrough and share the link? Link in the comments so this doesn't read as a link drop. Roast welcome. submitted by /u/DesignerAfternoon891 [link] [comments]
