Getting access to the Chinese models seems mostly solved now. You can go direct to the official platforms (DeepSeek, Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, Moonshot, Zhipu), use OpenRouter, or one of the other hosts. So for people actually using them through an API, in production or side projects: what problems are still there? Rate limits, latency from where you are, billing or payment, quality differences between providers, docs that only exist in Chinese, something else? Disclosure: I'm looking at building something small in this space, but I'd rather not build it if the honest answer is "nothing, it's fine."
