I've only been seriously trying to learn head anatomy for a couple of days. I've watched a few anatomy/sculpting videos before, but honestly a lot of the theory still goes over my head, so right now I'm trying to understand it more through actual sculpting. These are my first 3 proper head studies, all done today. Each took around 45-60 minutes. I did a few quick 15-20 minute heads before, but I wouldn't really count those as proper studies. I used the same stylized anatomy sculpt as reference for all 3. I wasn't trying to copy the stylization literally, mostly just understand the larger forms and make them look more like normal human heads. At the moment I'm still relying a lot on observation. I can usually see when something looks wrong, but I don't always understand the anatomy behind it yet. Any mistakes that keep repeating across all 3 would be really useful to know, especially around the skull shape, eye sockets, cheekbones, mouth/jaw, ears and neck. Feel free to be critical, I'm mainly trying to figure out what I should focus on before making more heads. P.S. Reference is in the last image. submitted by /u/TiredGuyGames [link] [comments]
