(Rtd) Egbert Field exchange the signed documents The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in civil aviation.The MoU was signed on October 2, 2026, in Georgetown, Guyana, by UCAA Deputy Director General Olive Birungi Lumonya and GCAA Director General Lt. Col. (Rtd) Egbert Field. UCAA was also represented by Manager Economic Regulation Christopher Kasozi.The agreement provides a framework for technical collaboration, knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices in the management, modernisation and maintenance of civil aviation systems.Key areas of cooperation include safety surveillance and oversight, State Safety Programme and Safety Management Systems, personnel licensing and training, airworthiness, institutional strengthening and human resource development, and economic oversight of air transport.Under the MoU, the two authorities will exchange information, deploy experts and instructors for training and technical missions, and conduct joint studies and other activities of mutual benefit.The partnership is expected to enhance safety, efficiency and regulatory standards in both countries, while laying the foundation for future commercial and economic ties.Uganda and Guyana also agreed to conclude and sign a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) during the ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event (ICAN) slated for December 2026 in Equatorial GThe post Uganda, Guyana Sign Aviation Cooperation Deal appeared first on Business Focus.
