Liquidity sweep, CHoCH and order block: the full sequencePalantir Technologies Inc. Class ABATS:PLTREdoLab-MarketsPLTR In late March, price sat at the very top of its range, a few cents below the high everyone could see. That is exactly where this sequence tends to start. Most of us know the three pieces separately. The mistakes come from using them out of order: selling the sweep before structure breaks, or treating any candle as an order block. Here is the full sequence, step by step, on a real daily chart of Palantir (PLTR) between March and April 2026. The example is about six months old, so we can see how it played out to the end. First, the context. On February 2, PLTR reported revenue up 70% year over year, and still the post-earnings jump (an open at $165.05) was gone within two sessions. At that point the market was arguing about valuation, not growth. From the February lows at $126.23 (Feb 13) and $126.37 (Feb 24), price built a clean uptrend, with a high at $161.45 on March 6 and higher lows at $148.58 (March 13) and $149.09 (March 20). Step 1. The liquidity sweep A liquidity sweep is a quick move beyond an obvious high or low that fails to hold. Above a visible high sit the stops of the shorts and the breakout orders of late buyers. Price runs into that liquidity, fills it and comes back. You recognise it by a wick beyond the level and a close back inside the range. The close matters more than the wick. A close above the level is a breakout until proven otherwise. On PLTR, the March 6 high at $161.45 was the obvious ceiling. On March 24 the wick reached $162.40, just 0.59% above it, and the candle closed at $154.78, well back inside. Stops taken, no acceptance above. Step 2. The change of character (CHoCH) A sweep on its own is only a warning. Plenty of sweeps are followed by a new high a few days later. What turns the warning into information is the change of character, the first time price breaks the structure that kept the trend alive. In an uptrend, that structure is the last higher low. You recognise the break by a candle close below that low, not just a wick through it. On PLTR, the last higher low was $149.09 from March 20. On March 26, two sessions after the sweep, price closed at $147.56, below $149.09 and below the earlier $148.58 as well. The sequence of higher lows was broken. The extension came fast, with a low of $136.30 on March 30. Step 3. The order block The order block is the last opposite candle before the move that broke structure. In a bearish sequence, it is the last bullish candle before the drop. The logic is simple: that is where the orders that got trapped were placed, and price often returns to that zone before continuing. To find it, locate the move that produced the CHoCH and look back for the last candle of the opposite color. Mark its full range. On PLTR, that candle is March 23, the bullish session right before the sweep, from $153.24 to $161.08. Price came back on April 8, 11 sessions after the CHoCH. It opened inside the zone at $154.77, tagged $156.28 and closed the day at $140.76. Two sessions later, on April 10, it printed $122.68, 19.9% below the lower edge of the order block at $153.24. The rule we take away Sweep first, with a wick beyond an obvious level and a close back inside. Then the CHoCH, with a close beyond the last swing that held the trend. Only then the order block, the last opposite candle before that break, marked in full. If there is a trade idea at all, it lives at the return to the zone, not at the sweep. What invalidates the sequence 👎 A close above the order block ($161.08) or above the sweep high ($162.40) means sellers did not defend the zone and the reading is wrong. 👍 What confirms it is a rejection inside the zone, like the one on April 8. One honest nuance. On April 7 price closed at $150.07, back above the broken $149.09. That alone cancelled nothing. The level that mattered was the top of the order block, and price never closed above it. Setup Rating — 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭒ (clean sweep, clear CHoCH and a sharp rejection; the April 8 gap into the zone left little room to act calmly) After a sweep, do you wait for the CHoCH, or do you act on the sweep candle itself?
