finmid, the Berlin-based embedded lending company behind the financing programmes of Wolt, Delivery Hero and myPOS, is today announcing it has raised €17m from Big Pi Ventures and Mainset, with Earlybird following on, as it launches two of its most significant products to date: multi-year vehicle financing with Bolt, and a merchant lending programme with Skroutz. The Series A extension brings finmid's total funding to €52m. The capital will be used to expand finmid's asset-finance products, multi-source funding infrastructure and underwriting capabilities, and to support expansion into further platform categories including mobility and e-commerce.Bolt Vehicle SolutionsRide-hailing platform Bolt has partnered with embedded lending infrastructure provider finmid to launch Bolt Vehicle Solutions, a programme that gives fleet operators access to tailored vehicle financing. Europe’s ride-hailing market is projected to reach €157 billion by 2034, yet the fleet operators serving this demand face a structural challenge when it comes to financing vehicles. Traditional lenders often lack visibility into the commercial performance of fleet businesses, and vehicle manufacturers’ standard financing terms are not designed for high-utilisation commercial use.Bolt Vehicle Solutions addresses this gap directly. Operators can explore available vehicles on the platform and, when ready, are connected to finmid to review financing options and complete their application. finmid’s terms provide for fixed monthly repayments, with ownership transferring on final payment - turning what was a recurring cost into a long-term asset.Skroutz Funding Through its partnership with Skroutz, Greece's largest online marketplace, finmid powers Skroutz Funding, enabling the marketplace to lend directly to its around 9,000 merchants, with Skroutz Group providing the capital and finmid handling the underwriting, regulated lending, servicing and refinancing. It is the first finmid partnership in which its credit infrastructure wraps around the platform's own source of capital.Building on momentumfinmid was founded on the belief that business financing is moving into the platforms businesses already use and trust. It builds the lending infrastructure that makes this possible across Europe: through a single integration, platforms can offer their business customers financing, with finmid handling the underwriting, regulated lending and servicing, and capital coming from the platform itself, its banking partner or finmid’s refinancing partners.Today’s news is finmid’s first funding announcement since its €23m Series A in April 2024. Since launch, finmid has extended more than €4bn in financing offers to businesses across 30 European markets, working with partners including Wolt, Delivery Hero, myPOS and efood. And businesses keep coming back: around 85% of borrowers return for further financing, while financed merchants have grown their revenue on partner platforms by as much as 45%. Both of today’s launches, as well as the latest funding, mark the next stage in that journey – having proved its model with working capital, finmid is now applying the same infrastructure to bigger and more complex financing problems faced by platforms and the businesses that rely on them.Alexander Talkanitsa, co-founder, finmid said: "Two years ago, embedded lending meant a cash advance for a restaurant. Today the same rails carry a multi-year vehicle loan, a marketplace's own balance sheet, and the potential for more. Every platform with business customers now has a way to become their financing partner without becoming a bank."Max Schertel, co-founder, finmid said: "Small businesses have never lacked ambition – they've lacked a lender who could see them. Platforms, with their live and embedded view of the businesses they power, are uniquely placed to fill that gap, and finmid exists to make it happen. With Bolt we're financing the cars that fleets run on; with Skroutz the marketplace itself is putting its capital behind its merchants. Our job is to make that credit safe, fast and regulated – whoever provides the money and whatever businesses need it for."Joshua Okeleke, Europe BD Lead, Bolt said: "Fleet operators are essential to making ride-hailing work, but access to vehicles and financing can be a real barrier to growing their businesses. With Bolt Vehicle Solutions, we’re helping remove that barrier by combining preferential vehicle deals with a simpler path to financing and, ultimately, ownership. That gives our fleet partners a stronger foundation to invest in their businesses, put more vehicles on the road and grow alongside rising passenger demand.” Nick Kalliagkopoulos, Partner, Big Pi Ventures said: “Embedded lending is now essential infrastructure for marketplaces, and finmid is built to deliver it. Their capital light structure lets them grow quickly, and their licensing and geographic foothold make them a partner marketplaces can plug in once and scale everywhere. Their traction in southeast Europe, a region many overlook despite its size, is proof of how much whitespace is still out there.”NoYesFundraising News06 Oct, 2026
