A new tradition means guests need to arrive at Disneyland Resort in the early (and we mean early hours) on Tuesdays. On a normal day, both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure typically open at 8 a.m., although hours vary by date and special events. Today (October 6), for example, Disneyland Resort lists an 8 a.m. opening, giving most guests little reason to be anywhere near the resort before sunrise.Credit: Jess Colopy, Inside the MagicOf course, that doesn’t mean guests wait until 8 a.m. to arrive. Disneyland’s turnstiles commonly begin admitting visitors around 30 to 45 minutes before official opening, with the most enthusiastic early birds held at ropes around the hub until “rope drop.” Arriving early gives visitors a head start on popular attractions – such as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – while wait times are still at their lowest.Until this year, Disneyland Resort hotel guests had an even bigger advantage. Early Entry allowed eligible hotel guests into one of the two theme parks 30 minutes before regular opening, but Disney ended the perk on January 5, 2026. It was replaced with one Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction entry per registered hotel guest during their stay.Still, Tuesdays are now giving guests another reason to arrive absurdly early — and anyone hoping to beat the crowd may need to show up before 4:30 a.m.Credit: DisneyNew Mega-Lines Emerge at Disneyland on TuesdaysThe first Tuesday of the month is now known as Pintastic Tuesday at Disneyland (and on the Disney Store website), when collectors descend on the resort for new and limited-edition Disney pin releases. Some drops are announced in advance, while others arrive as surprises, with certain designs exclusive to Disneyland or available only in limited quantities. The latter means it’s often intense trying to pick up the pins you want – which is why some collectors (and, let’s face it, scalpers) – arrive in the wee hours to ensure early access.Today, the line for Disneyland security was already so long at 4:30 a.m. that it stretched down Harbor Boulevard and nearly hit Disney Way.It’s not even 4:30AM and the line for Disneyland security already extends so far down Harbor Blvd it’s almost to Disney Way. This is the earliest I’ve been here for Pintastic Tuesday and the farthest back I’ve been in line pic.twitter.com/RUlTvSJVAN— Matt Desmond (@DisneyScoopGuy) October 6, 2026As per @DisneyScoopGuy: “This is the earliest I’ve been here for Pintastic Tuesday and the farthest back I’ve been in line.”Today saw Kingdom Hearts pins drop at Disneyland Resort, hence the enthusiasm.“At what point do the collectors say ‘I’m done. This crap ain’t worth it anymore’?” one fan wrote on Reddit. “Just seeing this makes me glad I stopped collecting years ago.”With pin fans now needing to arrive before the sun rises to enjoy a fair shot at the most popular pins, some guests have called for alternative systems.Credit: Ken Lund, Flickr“With this volume of people, pin Tuesday may become virtual queue!” one fan suggested on X. “I got selfies with Josh [D’Amaro, Disney’s CEO] in [Downtown Disney] at the Lorcana drop and mentioned that doing Lorcana virtually worked better than the massive camp out/lineup.”Even those who arrived early didn’t manage to pick up the pins they wanted. “It sucks because I watched dozens of people who showed up later than me join their friends in line further ahead,” @DisneyScoopGuy added on X. “Disneyland security monitored the line for one month to prevent cutting and then gave up. Super lame. The worst part is that Disneyland truly does not care what a horrible guest experience they’re creating by creating false scarcity with these pins.”Today’s chaos unfolded as Disneyland Resort (and Disney World) announced price increases, but dropped penalties for Magic Key holders who miss or forget to cancel their park reservations.Would you arrive at 4 a.m. to buy pins at Disney? The post Guests Now Need To Arrive at Disneyland Before 4:30 a.m. On Tuesdays appeared first on Inside the Magic.
