GOLD — NEW WEEK, SAME RANGE… BUT FOR HOW LONG?Micro Gold FuturesCOMEX_MINI:MGC1!DWoodzLast week Gold basically did one thing: CONSOLIDATED. We spent the majority of the week rotating inside a pretty defined range, with multiple attempts to break out that ultimately failed. So going into this new week, I'm less interested in guessing the direction and more interested in seeing whether Gold can finally break this consolidation and transition into a trend. Right now, price is sitting around 4170–4190, with some important higher-timeframe levels underneath us. 🟢 BULLISH SCENARIO The first thing I'm watching is whether Gold can maintain above the previous Daily, Weekly and Monthly Lows. If buyers can continue defending this area and start building momentum, I want to see price push back toward the top side of value around 4220. A clean break and acceptance above that area could open the door for a larger move higher toward the next levels of resistance. But I don't want to buy simply because we're sitting above support. I want to see momentum + acceptance + structure. 🔴 BEARISH SCENARIO If Gold loses the current support area and starts accepting back below those previous Daily/Weekly/Monthly lows, that changes the picture. That could signal that last week's consolidation wasn't accumulation... …it was simply a pause before another leg lower. The key for me is how price reacts after the break. Break → acceptance → failed reclaim. That's much more interesting to me than chasing the initial breakdown candle. 📰 NEWS THIS WEEK There isn't a major Fed decision this week, but there are still some catalysts worth keeping on the radar. MONDAY: ISM Services PMI — 10:00 AM ET TUESDAY: Fed Governor Michelle Bowman speaks WEDNESDAY: 🔥 FOMC Minutes — 2:00 PM ET THURSDAY: Fed Governor Christopher Waller speaks FRIDAY: University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment — 10:00 AM ET The FOMC Minutes are probably the biggest scheduled event for me because they give us more detail on what the Fed was thinking during the September 15–16 meeting. And with Gold already spending an entire week consolidating, a catalyst could be enough to finally give us the expansion we're waiting for. 🎯 MY PLAN I'm not trying to predict which side wins. I'm watching the range. Hold above support → bullish momentum → test value high. Break below support → acceptance → look for continuation lower. And if Gold continues chopping between the two? I simply stay out. We've spent enough time in consolidation that the eventual breakout should give us information. I just don't need to be the guy who gets chopped up trying to predict it. Let Gold break. Let Gold retest. Let Gold show its hand. Then I'll execute. #Gold #GoldFutures #MGC #XAUUSD #TradingView #FuturesTrading #PriceAction #OrderFlow #MarketStructure #DayTrading #Trading
