Pershaada (Persian Force), a group winner for Middleham Park Racing, has been confirmed for a battle versus her elders in the August 21 G1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York by trainer Richard Hannon. The owners finished second in the Nunthorpe with The Platinum Queen (Cotai Glory) in 2022, who later went on to win the G1 Prix de l'Abbaye.Holding the distinction of her sire's first stakes winner, the filly broke her maiden at Goodwood in May over the minimum trip. Fourth in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, she rolled home by two lengths in the G3 Molecomb Stakes against males at Goodwood in July.Hannon told Tattersalls, “Pershaada, I don't know if you have noticed, has been a revelation so far this year. The plan is to go to the Nunthorpe next Friday.“I was extremely pleased with her in the Queen Mary and she compounded that in the Molecomb, which she won very well. I thought she was probably the horse to take out of the meeting.“The way she won last time showed that she is a very, very fast two-year-old. In my opinion, she would take some beating in any race over five furlongs – and I think she will get six as well.”Long-term targets for Pershaada are the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 26 and the Prix de l'Abbaye at ParisLongchamp on Arc Day in October.Hannon said, “After the Nunthorpe, the Cheveley Park is highly likely, and she will also be entered in the Prix de l'Abbaye. It all depends on whether she looks as though she is going to get six furlongs, and I think she will.“We have the choice of coming back to her own age group or continuing in the sprinting division in races such as the Abbaye.
