President’s Medal for Meritorious Service award to CPI - The HinduPublished - August 14, 2026 09:10 pm IST - BelagaviCircle Police Inspector Bavuddeen Rukmuddeen Gaddekar of Malmaruti Police Station in Belagavi is among the officers across the country to be selected for the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service for Independence Day 2026.It will be given to him as part of the 2026 Independence Day celebrations in recognition of his outstanding service in maintaining law and order, crime prevention and detection, and effective investigation of cybercrime cases, said a release.Mr. Gaddekar, who joined the Police Department as a Police Sub-Inspector in 2005, was promoted as Circle Police Inspector in 2016. He has served across various units such as the Crime Branch, Cyber, Economics and Narcotics, and in Malmaruti Police Station in Belagavi. He has been instrumental in solving 28 important cases, including those connected to the Irani gang, recovering over 1 kg of gold. He has solved 59 house robbery cases with significant recoveries. He has played a leading role in cybercrime investigations, helping freeze funds across 133 cyber fraud cases and returning ₹4.95 crore to victims.Similarly, Reserve Police Inspector Jaffersab H.
