Former Labour MEP Cyrus Engerer has announced the death of his father, Chris Engerer, sharing a tribute that paints a picture of a man known and loved by many.In a Facebook post, Engerer said his father was known by many as “the legend”, but to him and his family, he was simply dad.“He lived life entirely on his own terms, through the good times and the hard ones, never pretending to be anything other than himself,” Engerer wrote.He described his father as a familiar face at Paradise Exiles, joking that he treated the popular Sliema bar as his living room.According to Engerer, his father’s chair was always there as he welcomed friends, shared stories and became a fixture in the lives of many regulars.Engerer said that even in recent years, as his father’s visits became less frequent, people would still ask where he was.Reflecting on his father’s legacy, Engerer said he taught his family resilience, determination and the importance of caring deeply for those around him.“Dad, the legend,” he wrote. “He loved us so much and he adored his friends with a huge, open heart, and that’s what we’ll carry with us.”Lovin Malta extends its condolences to Chris Engerer’s family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.•
