The emphasis on risk comes as European crypto rules have become more demanding. The grandfathering period for MiCA, the EU’s effort to unify crypto rules across the bloc, came to an end in July. Revolut’s Cyprus unit was among the early recipients of a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence by CySEC and has since positioned itself to operate under the MiCA framework. The EU is now reviewing MiCA.
