During the Disney D23 2026 event, a new Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer appeared that showed a world based on the Pixar movie Coco and assigned the game a “late” 2027 release date. The video also marked the return of some of Sora’s allies, like King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. In all, the video spent under a minute and a half showing off new elements to the game. This Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer begins with looks at the Coco characters and storyline by showing Papa Hector telling Miguel that those forgotten by people in the living world disappear in the afterlife and experience The Final Death. We then see Miguel performing for a crowd while Heartless start to show up. Sora, in the same sort of attire as the boy, then attacks them. The trio head to the Casa de la Cruz, with Sora getting a Keyblade that matches the world’s aesthetics. He then fights in a battle alongside Papa Hector. After that, we see what’s going on with Sora’s allies. It shows that King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are looking for a way to find and save him. This means that they even checked in with Hades, who confirmed Sora isn’t there. However, while there is that distance, we see there’s still some way to connect. Sora is shown seeing outlines of Donald and Goofy while in Quadratum. That segment also confirms again that Strelitzia and Sigurd, who both appeared in Kingdom Hearts Union χ, will be present here. Here is the full Kingdom Hearts 4 D23 2026 trailer showing the updated release date window and Coco world.
