I'm too old and sick to do much volunteer work now but I still am very generous to people I run into who need a little help and to non-profits. But it was only lately I realized how some of my efforts were scams. It really hurt. I always saw the best in people and took them at their word. I had no idea so many people just lie and run scams for a living.
