Tottenham have learned their Premier League gameweek one referee and match officials for the clash against Brentford.Up next for Tottenham Hotspur is their Premier League opener against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.Spurs’ record at that ground is far from ideal, with the Lilywhites having only managed just the one win at the Bees’ stadium in their last five outings. However, when it comes to opening-day matches, Spurs hold an outstanding record, winning six of their last ten, drawing three and only losing once.Photo by Vince Mignott/MB Media/Getty ImagesTottenham discover match officials for Brentford clashOf course, this weekend Spurs will be hoping for yet another matchweek one victory, but they have now found out the match officials for their first league game of the season.The official Premier League website has confirmed Michael Oliver as the referee for the clash between Brentford and Tottenham.The 41-year-old will be joined by James Mainwaring and Blake Antrobus, who have been named as his assistants.Sam Barrott is the fourth official for the encounter; the VAR is John Brooks, while Gary Beswick comes in as the assistant VAR.Spurs’ strong record under Oliver offers encouragementSpurs will certainly be fancying their chances of walking away with a victory on Saturday given their record under Michael Oliver.The English official has taken charge of 56 Spurs matches, with the Lilywhites winning 29, drawing 11 and losing 16.He is also not shy to award penalties in Tottenham’s favour, having pointed to the spot six times in matches he has officiated.Spurs are yet to be awarded a penalty in the Premier League since 25 May 2025, when Solanke stepped up and scored against Brighton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.Brentford, however, do not have the strongest record in games officiated by Oliver.
