President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on behalf of the internationally acclaimed Triplets Ghetto Kids.The funds are earmarked to construct a rehabilitation and skilling centre to empower vulnerable youth across Uganda.Hosting the dance troupe in the Speaker’s Chambers this morning, following their recent performance alongside global music icons Shakira and Burna Boy at the World Cup, Speaker Oboth committed to taking their proposal directly to the President and facilitating a state meeting.They were led by their founder Mr. Dauda Kavuma and the Director of Projects & Corporate Communication Mr. Wisdom Enoch Ronnin.Extending a warm reception to the group, Speaker Oboth remarked: “It is a great pleasure to have you here at Parliament. You are most welcome. When I look at you, I see young people who have come from humble beginnings and have achieved things that, at your age, many of us could only dream of.”The Speaker revealed he knows about the story of humble beginnings himself having fetched water to find school fees.Highlighting their extraordinary global reach, the Speaker commended the group for representing the nation on the world’s biggest platforms: “You have moved from the ghetto to the world stage. Never be ashamed of where you started. Your circumstances do not have to determine where you end up. You are now role models,” he said.Mr. Wisdom Enoch Ronnin, the Inspire Triplets Ghetto Kids Foundation director for projects and corporate communications revealed that the centre would be designed to operate simultaneously as classrooms, professional workshops and production centers.The Speaker cautioned the kids about discipline:“There are many young children looking at you and believing that they too can make something of themselves. Stay humble. Stay disciplined. Value education. Work hard and never forget where you came from.
