A €15 million project is transforming San Ġorġ Primary School in Qormi into a modern educational facility while retaining the architectural character of the existing building. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)The major project, being carried out by the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools, will see the school equipped with more than 30 classrooms alongside several new specialised educational spaces.Works are being carried out in two phases, allowing the school to remain operational throughout construction. The project includes significant structural interventions, including replacing old roofs, extending parts of the building and creating new facilities.Education and Sport Minister Byron Camilleri visited the school to inspect the progress, with the investment forming part of wider efforts to modernise and improve accessibility across Malta’s schools.Once complete, San Ġorġ Primary will feature kindergarten facilities, art and music spaces, multisensory classrooms, a psychosocial classroom and a dedicated personal and social development classroom. All classrooms will also be air-conditioned.The school hall, courtyards and childcare centre will be upgraded, while electricity, water, drainage and internet infrastructure will be renewed. New security, alarm and fire protection systems are also planned, together with energy-efficiency improvements.The first phase is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2027, with the entire €15 million project scheduled to be ready during the 2027/2028 scholastic year.What do you make of the plans for San Ġorġ Primary?•
