Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage is confident Adam Wharton will not be sold this summer.Wharton has been subject of interest from Manchester City, who submitted an enquiry for the 22-year-old amid Rodri’s exit for Barcelona. The England international has attracted previous interest from a number of leading clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.Palace are understood to have rejected City’s approach and have informed interested clubs that Wharton is not for sale this summer.Speaking ahead of Palace’s Premier League opener at Everton, Sage said Wharton would benefit from ‘one more year’ with the Eagles.“We did it [sold big players in the past], and now I think is not the moment to do that,” said Sage.“He is able to play in another club, a big club. Here, or anywhere in Europe, but I think one year with us, in a new dynamic, will be good for him. “And we need him – that is why I think he will stay with us.”Asked whether Palace would entertain offers next summer, Sage added: “We will see. I hope he continues his improvement and he has all the arguments to leave. “That is why we work every day, and that is why he gives his best everyday too.”Read more – Carrick confirms Man Utd star will return ‘very, very soon’See also – Alonso addresses Enzo Fernandez’ Chelsea future amid Man City linksFollow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Palace boss shuts down Adam Wharton transfer talk amid Man City interest appeared first on The Football Faithful.
