Customers on Friday won prizes at all Carrefour branches across the country as the multinational retail and wholesale corporation celebrated four years of MyClub in Uganda.MyClub is a mobile App where customers can get discounted prices of up to 50% at any Carrefour branch. Once a customer downloads it either from the Google Play Store or from the Apple Store, they are eligible for loyalty points for as long as after shopping, they present the app at the counter for scanning. The loyalty points are then converted into cash for more shopping. For instance, 4 million points translates to Shs 400,000.On Friday, Carrefour, which Majid Al Futtaim owns the exclusive rights to operate in Uganda, started activities celebrating four years of its MyClub loyalty programme by rewarding shoppers across Kampala throughout August.The anniversary is also a thank-you to customers for their continued support and loyalty over the past four years. Through MyClub, Carrefour continues to give customers more value from every shopping trip, helping them save while earning points and accessing exclusive offers and rewards.Meddie Kisige, an member of MyClub said that to mark the milestone, Carrefour is rolling out major customer savings, including up to 50% off essential everyday items, daily UGX 40,000 shopping vouchers through Sanyu FM radio trivia and online treasure hunts, as well as a chance for shoppers to win 4 million MyCLUB points.With this, 4 million MyClub points are up for grabs.‘’Spend UGX 40,000 or more at any Carrefour supermarket for your chance to win 4 million MyCLUB points. To take part, shoppers simply need to scan their MyClub app when making their purchase at any Carrefour store nationwide,’’ said Kisige.For Nakawoya Aisha, one of the MyClub winners, the programme has made her regular shopping trips even more rewarding. She said the points apply to any product on the shelves.Low pricesOur reporter walked around the shelves and was able to confirm discounted prices.For instance, Philips Pedestal Fan goes for Shs 175,000. However, when shopping with the App, it goes for Shs 139,000. Sunsip artificial juice goes for Shs 23,900 for a 5-litre. However, MyClub App makes it Shs 18,900. A Grace textile pillow goes for Shs 14,500. On the App, it is Shs 10,500. Supper Rice (5 kgs) of Uganda goes for Shs 18,400. When shopping using the App, it is Shs 10,900. This is a 41% discount.
