In a first-of-its-kind move for any Disney park, one Disneyland Resort has officially installed new themed payment terminals for guests using credit cards, debit cards, mobile payment, or other tap-to-pay methods. Let’s take a look!New Payment Terminals at DisneylandCredit: Tom Page, FlickrOn August 11, WDWNT shared a photo of the new themed payment terminals that were recently installed at shops and restaurants around Disneyland Park (Paris) and Disney Adventure World, the former Walt Disney Studios Park. The first-of-their-kind custom payment processing terminals were created as part of a collaboration with Visa, an official partner of Disneyland Paris Resort.There are ten distinct designs inspired by the areas where they are located, all created through a partnership among Walt Disney Imagineering, Maintenance, Information Technology, Central Workshops, and Corporate Alliances & Partnerships. They are inspired by the lands of Disneyland Park and the worlds of Disney Adventure World.The themed payment-processing terminal casings were crafted from resin and aluminum, and each features a digital design inspired by the land it is in. In Worlds of Pixar at Disney Adventure World, the iconic Luxo ball is featured on terminal cases and screens. The screens in Avengers Campus feature the Avengers logo and silver, superhero-inspired casings. In Fantasyland at Disneyland Park, the payment-processing terminals are sculpted in the shape of a crown.Credit: DisneyVisa signs at the register feature the same symbolic logo as the nearby screen, like the aforementioned Luxo ball in Worlds of Pixar and the crocus flower in World of Frozen. In Adventureland, both the plaques and the screens feature a treasure chest. Meanwhile, a rat nibbles a piece of cheese on the terminals at La Place de Rémy.Disneyland Paris Resort says that more than 500 terminals in shopping and dining locations across Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World will eventually be updated with the themed casings and screens.
