GBPCAD 1 Hour – My Take (Aug 21, 2026)GBP/CADOANDA:GBPCADClearTradingMindI’m thinking GBPCAD is bearish today. On the 1H chart, price is showing weakness and moving back toward the lower support zone. If sellers continue to control the structure and this zone breaks, I’m expecting the next move toward 1.8716, which is my marked downside area. Fundamentally, GBP also has some pressure today. UK retail sales fell 0.5% in July, while the UK reported an unexpected £1.8 billion budget deficit. This gives me less confidence in GBP strength today. On the CAD side, Canadian inflation is around 3%, and higher energy prices are giving some support to the Canadian dollar. Oil is also trading at relatively elevated levels because of continuing Middle East tensions, which can generally be supportive for CAD. So for now, my bias remains bearish on GBPCAD, and I’m watching for continuation toward 1.8716. If price strongly rejects the lower zone and changes the 1H structure, I’ll reconsider this view. This is my personal market view, not financial advice.
