Every chapter of National Assistance League sponsors shopping trips for school children in need to buy new school clothing and shoes. This signature program is called Operation School Bell. My chapter holds our shopping events at the local Walmart and we have to take the tags off of every item purchased because we dont want parents returning items for cash. They also dont receive a regular receipt. Its sad we have to do this, but 98% of the parents/kids who come are super happy and grateful for the help. We have even had former recipients who are now doing better, come by and make a donation as a thank you for the time they attended an event!
