Nearly 40 years ago, an English farmer made the decision to stop intensive wheat farming, paving the way for the Strawberry Hill nature reserve. This 377-acre sanctuary has now achieved permanent protection thanks to a successful fundraising drive. The former farmland is flourishing with wildlife, including endangered species like nightingales and a variety of bats, turtle doves, and insects, all thanks to strong public engagement and media support.
