Just 58.2% of people in Malta aged 15 and over took at least one personal trip involving an overnight stay in 2024, placing the country below the European Union average.New Eurostat figures show that nearly two-thirds of Europeans travelled for leisure or other personal reasons in 2024, with the EU average standing at 65.4%.Malta ranked 20th among EU member states, behind countries such as Spain, Belgium, Ireland and Germany.
