I've done cosplay for a long time and I can't sew. I spend a long time sourcing bits and pieces and putting it all together to achieve a look. Anytime anyone takes an interest in one of my costumes, I will talk their ears off about where I found everything, how I put it together, etc, because I want to encourage other would be cosplayers and let them know you don't have to see or be a creator to come up with your perfect look, and how you can do it with a tight budget. I also want to drive business to the vendors I love. It irritates me no end when people claim other's work as their own. This is one of the worst hobbies as far as authenticity is concerned.
