The Perfection Series: Price ShelvesMicro E-mini Nasdaq-100 Index FuturesCME_MINI:MNQ1!SidgateShelves are the foundation of the auction. Hinges are the doors that open only when the foundation is strong. No shelves, no trustworthy hinges - no structure, no trade. Shelves are the skeleton. Hinges are the muscles. If the muscle is not attached to the skeleton, it is useless. It has no strength, no foundation, no leverage. Thursday, 8/13/2026, price exploded upwards through empty space. It stopped when it hit a Daily POC at 30263.50. Friday, 8/14, the auction produced many failed hinges as it looked for support. It found only empty space until it reached a shelf-stack from late June & early July. Shelves are not opinion. They are facts created by actual liquidity. They are areas where buyers and sellers have transacted priorly. They are areas of defended value. Types of Shelves: 1. Macro - the big picture a. HVNs b. POCs c. multi-session balances 2. Meso - a certain segment of the macro a.-c. dittoes 3. Daily a. VAL b. VAH c. POC 4. Microbalances Shelves Provide: 1. support 2. resistance 3. targets for pullbacks 4. targets for expansions 5. anchors for hinges 6. boundaries for sweeps 7. fuel for expansion Without shelves the OHM has no structural foundation. It is the proverbial house built upon sand. OHM Shelf-Stack Principles: 1. continuation launchpads 2. reversal magnets 3. pullback targets 4. expansion targets 5. hinge generators Shelf-stacks are high-authority zones. Shelf-stacks are where intent is revealed. On 8/13 price moved rapidly up through empty space. A space with no structure. On 8/14 gravity brought PX back to earth. The OHM Rule for Explosive Up-Days: After an explosive up-day, the OHM places no buy-to-open trades until price pulls back to a shelf-stack. No shelf-stack pullback - no BTO trade. Shelves are the auction's memory. Without a shelf a hinge is just a coin-flip. The OHM only works when price respects a shelf. Empty space is where hinges die. Always have half a dozen or so charts on the top of your screen. Each one devoted to price shelves of varying types. Always know where the shelves are. Useful tips for microbalances: 1. always use the smallest timeframe possible *this gives greater accuracy 2. don't be afraid to use an FRVP on a 6-bar 15s microbalance *isolate the POC to a three-point span Microbalance: 1. overlapping bars 2. stalling of directional intent A microbalance is where price overlaps & rests. A tiny balance within the larger auction. The smallest unit of value creation.
